Job Description

Team Summary

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful, and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including both financial services providers and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operations, and macroeconomics, Visa Consulting and Analytics solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

VCA Managed Services is a team of global consultants dedicated to helping our clients grow their businesses through strategic execution and implementation support in P&L enhancement, technology/digital implementation, product development, and commercialization.

You will join our team and play a role in delivering and implementing high-impact projects and solutions with clients across the payments ecosystem, which includes issuers, acquirers, merchants, Fintechs, and more. This person will develop initiatives to promote balanced and profitable growth, thereby ensuring that Visa is both the preferred brand and an outstanding business partner. This role is based in our Mumbai office and reports to the Head of VCA, India & South Asia.

What a Director, VCA Managed Services does at Visa:

We are looking for a seasoned leader to manage a fast-growing VCA Managed Services team under VCA, functioning as a team lead to grow managed services with sound financial performance. This role will report to the in-market Head of VCA, coordinating across clients, internal teams, and external partners to drive the implementation and execution part of advisory engagements through service diversification.

Your responsibilities will include:

Business Development

  • Provide a go-to-market approach to drive VCA Managed Services engagement in collaboration with key internal business partners such as Sales, Marketing, Client Services etc., including ownership of campaigns to drive high-volume engagement through account executives.

  • Provide pipeline reporting and oversight to ensure accurate opportunity management.

  • Lead the VCA Managed Services team in supporting business development, project delivery, and prioritization of initiatives.

  • Build strong client relationships to understand challenges and drive growth.

  • Identify key stakeholders and processes.

Team / Operations Management

  • Oversee the team, ensuring alignment and efficiency, demonstrating the ability to structure a team and lead high performers to even higher performance levels.

  • Manage resources and budgets via the most profitable pricing strategies.

  • Identify key strategic and operational issues to generate and deliver innovative solutions to client problems and opportunities, while driving high-quality results and quantifying solution value and differentiation.

  • Lead recruiting and influence VCA Managed Services hiring decisions.

  • Demonstrate executive presence in leading conversations with clients and internal senior leaders at Visa.

  • Demonstrate leadership, managerial, and collaboration capabilities, particularly with those who are not direct reports, as is common in a matrixed organization.

  • Develop custom and scalable products using Visa and third-party assets.

  • Incentivize cross-functional teamwork by aligning cross-functional incentives.

Qualifications

Having already accumulated a variety of experience, you will be curious about the payments industry and keen to work alongside an experienced team to gain a deeper understanding. You will be comfortable in pre-sales consulting engagements, delivering projects end-to-end, and relish the opportunity to work closely with clients to influence their future performance. As a director for your practice, you should be a strong leader, working with client senior management teams, and internal client relationship and account executives at Visa.

Specific Skills and Experience You Will Bring:
• 15-20 years above experience in Payment Industry, Consulting, Strategy, or financial institutions
• Previous Engagement Management experience at large management consulting firm leading or Portfolio Management / Product Leadership at a large Indian Financial Institution
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
• Strong team leadership skills with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style; able to work effectively in a matrixed organization

• Curious, up to date with Indian payment landscape with a point of view on what & how of client priorities & problems
• Financial acumen with experience managing a P&L.
• Detail oriented, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in reports and data analysis
• Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
• Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to progress multiple priorities concurrently
• Experience in and passion for the power of analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactics, and proven ability to generate insights from data

• Strong consulting toolkit (e.g. hypothesis driven analysis & problem solving, stakeholder management / facilitation and project management skills)
• Significant understanding of data analysis, and technology in payments, and cloud technology, etc.
• Experience in several key business areas such as portfolio management, product management, tech implementation and strategic execution for card businesses
• Entrepreneurial mindset energized by the possibility of building a new business
• Collaborative approach with internal and external partners
• Resilient in navigating through ambiguity and translating the theoretical to applicable
• Growth mindset that embraces creativity optimism and failing-fast
• Experience using financial indicators to measure business performance with a significant focus on impacting return on investment
• Knowledge and understanding of banking operations and/or payment schemes, including products & services, business systems and processes, marketing initiatives and card issuing experience
• Strong consulting experience preferred with project management skills
