Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, technology, payments and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients. VCA's core client segments include issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, payment enablers and governments.
Within VCA exists VCA Implementation Services (VIS), a hands-on execution partner, implementing, operating, and optimizing Visa products in client environments to accelerate activation, portfolio growth, risk control, and data-driven performance.
What a Director, VCA Implementation Services does at Visa:
We are seeking a seasoned leader to manage a fast-growing VCA Implementation Services team, functioning as a team lead to grow implementation services with sound financial performance. This role coordinates across clients, internal teams, and external partners to drive execution of advisory engagements through service diversification.
The Director will join the team to lead and deliver high-impact projects and solutions with clients across the payment ecosystem, including issuers, acquirers, merchants, and Fintechs. This person will develop initiatives to promote balanced and profitable growth, thereby ensuring that Visa is both the preferred brand and an outstanding business partner. This role is based in our Mumbai office and reports to the Head of VCA, India & South Asia.
Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Drive go-to-market strategy for VCA Implementation Services in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Client Services, and other internal partners.
- Own campaigns to drive high-volume engagement through account executives.
- Provide pipeline reporting and oversight to ensure accurate opportunity management.
- Lead the VCA Implementation Services team in supporting business development, project delivery, and prioritization of initiatives.
- Build strong client relationships to understand challenges and drive growth.
- Identify key stakeholders and processes.
Team / Operations Management
- Lead and structure a high-performing team, ensuring alignment and efficiency.
- Manage resources and budgets using profitable pricing strategies.
- Deliver innovative solutions to client challenges, quantifying value and differentiation.
- Lead recruiting and influence hiring decisions for VCA Implementation Services.
- Demonstrate executive presence in client and internal leadership conversations.
- Collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization.
- Develop scalable products using Visa and third-party assets.
- Align cross-functional incentives to promote teamwork.
Qualifications
What the Director Will Need:
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with proven experience in pre-sales consulting, end-to-end project delivery, and client engagement. They will work closely with client senior management and Visa account executives to influence performance and drive impactful outcomes.
Required Skills and Experience
- 15–20 years of experience in payments, consulting, strategy, or financial institutions.
- Engagement management experience at a top consulting firm or product leadership at a major financial institution.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership with a collaborative, diplomatic style.
- Curious and well-versed in the Indian payments landscape.
- Financial acumen with P&L management experience.
- Detail-oriented with high standards for quality and rigor.
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to generate insights from data and drive strategy.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience building ROI-driven business cases.
What will also help:
- Proven experience leading implementation services in consulting or financial services.
- Strong consulting skills including hypothesis-driven analysis and project management.
- Familiarity with data analytics platforms and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Deep understanding of payments, card issuing, acquiring, and merchant services.
- Hands-on experience in strategic execution such as product launches and portfolio optimization.
- Demonstrated success in building new business lines or service offerings.
- Ability to collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Technology, and Operations teams.
- Resilience in navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in execution.
- Growth mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
- Financial acumen with experience in ROI-driven business case development.
- Active engagement with industry trends and thought leadership forums.
