Job Description
What a Director, Credit Card Products, does at Visa:
Reporting to the SD, Credit Card Products, the role-holder will be responsible for initiatives across three broad areas of responsibility:
Credit Product best practices - leading identification, development and execution of Credit product best practices to drive improvements in usage, activation and preference for Visa amongst issuers and consumers Drive credit innovation - through execution initiatives, under the leadership of the SD, Credit Card Products, as part of the Visa 2030 strategy to expand Credit across traditional credit card issuance and the provision of credit outside of credit card issuance Facilitate Visa thought-leadership - working closely with regional teams and stakeholder groups to develop a clear point of view on the impacts of economic and other trends on the future of credit and establishing Visa’s leadership in optimizing consumer access to credit for internal and external stakeholders.
The role-holder will be part of a small global team and will work closely with colleagues from across Visa’s global regions as well as with Global stakeholders to develop end-to-end consumer experiences that drive client preference for Visa as a strategic partner and make us an enabler of superior value propositions for digitally-enabled consumers.

An essential part of Visa’s success is the establishment and application of rules and standards, to ensure a uniform, reliable point-of-sale UX, both online and offline. The Director will be responsible for efficient administration of these Rules and Standards as they pertain to Credit Products, ensuring that the Rules are fit-for-purpose, while also ensuring their efficient operation and administration.
The role-holder will be responsible for the identification, development, commercialization and launch of new ways to grow the consumer credit business as part of Visa’s 2030 corporate strategy, working closely with regional teams, global stakeholders and Visa issuers to expand ‘credit-card’ issuance, as well as newer ways of efficiently facilitating the provision of unsecured credit.
As part of this role, the Director will also be responsible for facilitating the collation, analysis and dissemination of best practices and recommendations for optimal Credit Product performance both internally within Visa, and as a thought-leader externally, working closely with Visa Consulting & Analytics.
You will need to be highly collaborative and will be the key interface between the market teams and Visa’s global team to ensure our platforms drive product differentiation, consumer activation and engagement
As well as working with regional, client-facing teams, you will work closely with colleagues from across Product, with Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Client Services, Finance, Pricing, Legal and Compliance.

Consumer credit spans most life-stages and income segments in all Visa’s markets from entry-level credit products through to solutions designed to meet the needs of Ultra-High Net Worth consumers and as such is a key platform for revenue generation and consumer engagement for Visa and our clients. As the largest of Visa’s solutions sets, Core Products offer Visa the most visible and impactful opportunity to drive digital payments enablement and thus is a key part of our digital migration strategy.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
•10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
•12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
•13 - 15+ years of experience and at least 8 – 10 years of experience in the payments industry, preferably in product development, product management & strategy
•Experience in financial services, fintechs, telecom, retail and ecommerce will be an advantage
•Proven experience in P&L ownership & sharp understanding of macroeconomics, consumer behavior, product operations, business processes
•Established credentials in delivering product & business solutions and keen interest in payment technology & innovation
•Understanding of network product, rules, technology will be advantageous
•Strategic thought leadership coupled with execution bias to drive initiatives and meet key result areas
•Sound business acumen, analytical skills and keen understanding of new technology payment business models and profitability drivers
•Understanding of Visa business and organization strongly preferred
•Excellent direct & indirect team building & leadership skills, managing local & remote team members as well as ‘dotted line’ and extended team members in Visa’s global regions.
•Master’s Degree in business, engineering or a related field
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 178,400 to 258,750 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
