Job Description

What’s it all about?
This role supports our CEE teams, acts as the primary lead and Data Science evangelist for our internal stakeholders in the CEE region. We are seeking strategic and analytical thinker to shape data driven strategies for Visa’s CEE teams to support their tactical and strategic requirements. The role will partner with our Global teams that draws on Data Science capabilities to grow support our stakeholders.
What we expect of you, day to day.
- Provides thought leadership to the CEE stakeholders and the leadership team in data science and analytics techniques and business applications to unlock the value of Visa’s unique data set
- Lead a team of at least 5, including at least 1 Senior manager and 4 managers
- Understand strategic (i.e. 3/5-year plan) and tactical needs (i.e. annual plan) for our stakeholders, can create roadmaps and deliver them.
- Evangelizes the creative use of data and analytics to solve business problems with internal clients
- Identifies how data science and predictive techniques can be used to enhance existing products, including core applications, consumer applications and our Value-added services teams.
- Partners with our Global Product IDA team to support and leverage any global solutions to better support our stakeholders.
- Able to lead the delivery of data science and analytics projects (utilizing delivery resources) during times of capacity issues
- Identifies trends in our client work to inform Visa’s data product development path
- Proactively identifies opportunities to drive increase revenue in the region to support delivery of the business plan
This is a hybrid position based in the Warsaw office. This requires 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) attendance in the office.
Qualifications
What we’re after…
- Extensive experience in data science or analytical functions
- Experience leading teams and/or projects that deliver data driven insights
- Experience in payment, retail banking, or retail merchant industries
- Proven experience building, leading, and inspiring high-performing virtual teams to deliver against client’s objectives
- Operates as a thought leader, with the ability to guide, influence and inspire performance across the data science function and sales teams
- Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levels
- Strong consultative skills to establish effective relationships with our clients and the sales teams
- Ability to communicate at all levels with both business and technology leaders to build consensus and influence Visa’s direction
- Results oriented with very strong analytical, consultative and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- Fluent in English and Polish
Technical Experience
- Fluent with Python/Spark, SQL and processing large data sets
- Used at working with productivity tools such as Jira/Confluence
- Confident with BI tools such as Power BI/Tableau
- The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, engineering, or economics
- Understanding of advanced analytics techniques and emerging forms of analytics
