Job Description

Visa Inc. is at the forefront of the Gen AI revolution, developing and executing a shared strategic vision for our Benefits, Loyalty and Marketing platforms. Our goal is to establish Visa as the world-leading data-driven payments company. 

The successful candidate will be a Software developer with excellent software and data engineering skills and expertise in Java technologies. The candidate will be involved in hands-on software development and testing activities. The candidate should be a motivated self-starter and quick learner. 

This role will be part of Digital Marketing Experience, Benefits & Loyalty team in Value Added Services group at Visa. 

Responsibilities 

• Develop, and implement new software systems, using technical knowledge of computer science and engineering principles. 
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. 
• Collaborate with other software engineers, product managers, user experience designers, and others to deliver features that meet user needs. 
• Write unit tests, and contribute to improving code quality in the codebase. 
• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos. 
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and present solutions. 
• Document software and features for internal and external engineering teams. 
• Continually update technical knowledge and skills. 
• Have a passion for delivering zero defect code and be responsible for ensuring the team's deliverables meet or exceed the prescribed defect SLA. 
• Coordinate and participate in continuous integration activities, automation frameworks for testing and deployments etc.  

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in Computer Science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Knowledge in Big Data/ Hadoop/ Spark/ Scala is a plus.
• Proficiency in Core Java development concepts and design patterns.
• Previous experience in a software engineer role is preferred.
• Proficiency or willingness to learn UI stack using advanced JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS is a plus.
• Quick learner with strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in an Agile development environment using methodologies like SCRUM.
