The Role

The System administrator is responsible for maintaining, upgrading and managing our software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The System Administrator should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly, also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.

 

Responsibilities

• Work in conjunction with the client support, product owners, and development teams to provide optimal operating environment that meets the requirements and strategic business objectives.

• Responsible for managing the IT infrastructure systems for mobile financial solutions offered by the company.

• Responsible for the management of production environment, change and control management for cloud solutions and infrastructure.

• Responsible for overseeing the operations of all networks, servers, clusters, cloud services, and security management.

• Responsible for managing internal active/active service, and applications, networks, cloud services, data bases, DBMS, and security management systems.

• Responsible for production environment control systems.

• Responsible for deploying applications into different environments by following the processes and controls implemented by the organization.

• Responsible for overseeing the creation of IT documentation required by PCI, playing a key role in the implementation of best practice plans to meet IT standards and managing the continuing improvement of models to be implemented for IT Standards.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• BS in computer science or equivalent.
• Strong in knowledge in Kubernetes, containers, and platform orchestrators.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Linux environments (RHEL, RHCSA/RHCE, CentOS).
• Engineering experience in building production infrastructure using code and repeatable designs.
• Experience developing solutions using automation tools.
• Experience developing automation infrastructure provisioning tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL, SOC 2 and PCI processes and experience evolving to Agile development lifecycles.
• Knowledge in cloud networking and common software.
• Ability to articulate complex architectures to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to document solutions and train operational teams on supportability.
• Experience with MySQL (Clusters, Replication and Tuning) and GCP Spanner.
• Experience with Database Administration, schema design, query analysis, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Knowledge of security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, PCI compliance, etc.
• 5+ years system architecture required with a demonstrated ability to read code and understand coding logic to assist in troubleshooting.
• 2+ years of experience supporting mission critical production applications.
