Deputy Editor, Features
VICE Media Group is seeking a highly creative, extremely organized Deputy Editor to work on the Digital Features team. This person would be responsible for editing digital features in the Culture and Life space as well as pieces across multiple topic areas for our thematic special projects and VICE Magazine. The person who takes on this role would be excited and ready to produce creative multi-format projects—including print, digital and visual—regularly collaborating with teams across a wide swath of the company, from social to art to product to video to audio, as well as the magazine's designer and photo editor.
This person should have a sharp editorial eye, be well versed in culture news emerging around the globe, and have a drive for finding unique stories that are a fit for the VICE audience. A background in editing meaty, sensitive stories is preferred, as is a sense of humor.
This role reports to the Editorial Director, Features.

-Regular collaboration with social, visual and video teams to extend our reporting and creative ideas into formats that tell our stories the best
-Managing the day-to-day workflow for each quarterly thematic digital tentpole and issue of VICE Magazine, including keeping tabs on the production calendar, handling proofs and layouts, budget, contracts, and invoices
-Managing freelance fact-checkers and copy editor and those processes
-5-7 years of editing experience
-Experience managing multi-format digital projects
-Strong organizational and collaboration skills
-The ability to manage and communicate multiple deadlines
-Experience commissioning and managing freelance relationships
We'd love it if you have:
-Familiarity with print or managing multi-format projects
