Overview and Responsibilities

The Director of Global Environmental Health and Safety will be responsible for the overall environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) for our Paramount Global locations, CBS News, and domestic non-production events. In this role, you will primarily provide EHS support to these facilities/operations in the eastern region. As the Director, you will have responsibility for the development and implementation of international, federal, state, and local EHS programs, plans, and policies, including those related to but not limited to Fire Life Safety, Injury Illness, Prevention, Hazard Communication, Hazardous Materials/Waste, Emergency Planning/Response, Respiratory Protection, Ergonomics, etc. This role will report to the SVP of Global Environmental Health and Safety and ensure compliance with any existing and potentially new applicable regulatory requirements. • Continuous collaboration including, but not limited to the following departments: Risk Management, Legal, ESG, Core Services/Facilities, Human Resources, Special Events, News Operations, and Security to institute a global EHS approach throughout the organization.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local agency regulations, especially OSHA, requirements, including organizing and maintaining all required records and reporting/responding to any form of violation.
• Organize testing and maintain records and reports of environmental hazards such as asbestos, lead, mold, air quality, water quality, etc.
• Develop, implement, and conduct EHS audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develops and implements Global EHS programs, plans, protocols and policies while facilitating/delivering the corresponding training that includes but is not limited to COVID-19 prevention, Injury & Illness Prevention, Hazard Communication, Ergonomics, Emergency Action & Evacuation, and Respiratory Protection, etc.
• Audits EHS regulatory compliance for Eastern-based facilities and assets to ensure alignment with global EHS programs, plans, and policies.
• Participate in the Risk Engineering Visits as assigned; aid in tracking and completion of the (OFI - opportunities for improvement) corrective actions associated with such engineering reports that are furnished through the Global Risk Management Department
• Partner with GSOC on crisis management plans and protocols, especially for CBS News and non-production/special events by providing support and input.
• Develop and compile associated EHS reporting metrics and
• Work with third-party service providers that administer EHS consulting & training services.
• Provide support to the SVP of Global EHS for various projects.
• Travel Required (30%-40%)

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in EHS leadership roles, preferably within a media or entertainment industry context.
• Shown experience in developing and implementing effective EHS programs that align with business goals.

Additional Qualifications:
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage collaborators at all levels of the organization.
• MS, CSP, or CIH are highly desirable.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and able to drive change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills required (Asana, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Veoci, etc.)
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $139,200.00 - 174,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
