Training and Onboarding Instructor
The Training and Onboarding Instructorleads engaging classroom-based new hire training focused on safety, quality, and technical skills. Develop and enhance hands-on training content to support a dynamic and effective onboarding experience.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and plan the training courses in accordance with factory requirements.
- Arrange, conduct and record all training and accredited courses for employees within the factory LMS
- Plan and organize in a classroom environment to ensure course outlines and objectives are met
- Develop, schedule, deliver, and record a variety of training sessions.
- Participate in the development of new training material in support of factory and Region as required.
- Verbally communicate complex concepts to a variety of people during a classroom or hands-on presentation, including assessing and checking for understanding
- Deliver training programs, instructions, and training manuals at the appropriate level, ensuring participants maintain a high level of engagement and understanding.
- Present information in large classes, one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, supervisors and managers in the organization effectively
- Participate in continuous development and improvements of training aids and equipment.
- Independently manage classroom presentations and simulator lab exercises of 6-8 students to ensure safe and effective learning environment for all participants
- Acquire and maintain technical expertise on relevant processes and accreditations
- Support Local, Segment and Global programs as required.
- Provide and update local training materials.
- Incorporate Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and quality standards into the training.
- Provide feedback points for course content updates to the course owner.
- Provide feedback to other trainers who are subject matter experts.
- Provide training statistics for the Region on factory training.
- Support Tech transfer and NPI training requirements.
- Support training administration by providing necessary reports for training completion
- Support the development of other instructors through mentor programs
- Communicate and demonstrate Vestas's policies and procedures relating to manufacturing job requirements
- Have a strong focus on safe work methods in a manufacturing setting, influencing cultural buy-in with participants
- Work in a team environment, regularly consulting with other knowledge and subject matter experts to present the most accurate and up-to-date information to class participants
- Act as an additional point of contact for new employees as they transition from training to in-role.
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree or a certification from the Association for Talent Development (ATD - formerly ASTD)
- 2-5 years of experience in training or instructional roles
- Background in Science or Technology (preferred)
- Experience managing a classroom and delivering instruction daily
- Strong classroom instruction and classroom management skills
- Proven ability to develop new training content and improve existing materials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information to employees across the organization
