Regional Procurement Program Specialist

Portland, OR

Global Procurement Program Management (GPPM) is responsible for organizing and implementing the procurement scope of technology, New Product Introduction, and Technology Transfer projects within Vestas. Regional Procurement Program Management AME is a specialist role with dual reporting to the Head of Regional Procurement AME and the Head of Global Procurement Program Management.

Location: Portland, OR- onsite

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in scoping of regional projects during Feasibility and Business Case stages in alignment with GP Strategy and Regional Strategy
  • Perform Risk & Issue Management in regional projects
  • Ensure collaboration with regional manufacturing, supply chain, and construction related to regional projects
  • Manage regional projects after the Feasibility and Business Case stages
  • Support projects managed by Global Project Managers
  • Support procurement project portfolio management from a regional perspective
  • Plan and maintain an overview of the availability and utilization of regional procurement colleagues for project-related work and provide input to the resource management process
  • Be an integrated member of the Global Procurement Program Management and Regional Procurement AME department meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Supply Chain,) or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Procurement, Business, Engineering, Quality or Operations field
  • Specialist with "hands on" Project Management experience within an industrial environment
  • Cross-functional experience within the COO area being a valuable asset (Safety, Quality, Procurement, Supplier Quality & Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc....)
  • Knowledge of modular development and new product introductions across a global value chain
  • Experience working in a global matrix organization
  • Skilled communication skills in English, both written and verbal

  • Analytical, structured, result oriented and focused on delivering as promised
  • Know how to manage your stakeholders efficiently by building and maintaining relations
  • Customer focus, effective problem-solving capabilities, solid collaborator, and cultural sensitivity skills
  • Ability to keep the overview and think ahead, but also to appreciate the operational aspects
  • Able to communicate across all levels to align expectations, engage the organization, monitor results, and establish solutions
  • Proven ability to work both with limited supervision and in teams in a demanding environment
  • Open-minded and good at sharing and gathering information within a team
