PEX Specialist

Manufacturing Production Excellence in the Brighton Assembly Factory. Manufacturing Production Excellence is a department providing lean toolbox training, standardization and production support to the Assembly factory in Brighton, Colorado, working with production Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, also NPI (New Product Introduction) projects for factory to follow production ramp-up, accordingly achieve the target takt time. The PEX Specialist reports to Head of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and deploying C/I (Continuous Improvement) production program to Brighton Assembly Factory
  • Ensuring governance for C/I program in place across all processes and areas.
  • Ensuring a continuous improvement culture established and sustained through the C/I program deployment
  • Facilitating workshops, manufacturing process improvements together with relevant stakeholders for takt time improvement and waste elimination
  • Working with NPI projects, making sure standard work package is created, prepared for new product launch and production start
  • Working with Technology Transfer projects, helping factory to launch a new product or production line by analyzing factory layout and production flow, then implementing Standard work and other Lean tools to continuously improve, accordingly achieve the target takt time
  • Willing to travel to other Vestas factories worldwide

Qualifications:

  • Minimum a bachelor's degree in production engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management or similar working experience, more than 5 years experience
  • Extensive understanding for the 7 wastes and how to eliminate them
  • Extensive understanding for pull system and takt production
  • Extensive experience working with Lean Manufacturing and continuous Improvement
  • International experience in a global multicultural environment is advantageous
  • High communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, especially with supply chain activities in scope
  • Experience in management disciplines is required, i.e. strategy deployment, change management, customer relationship management, business cases development, supply chain management, or similar
  • Experience working with Microsoft packages and SAP or equivalent ERP
  • Lean Toolbox, including Black belt in Lean and proven experience

Competencies:

  • Proven performance improvement through PEX Kaizen work
  • Experience in facilitating and driving Kaizen and PEX workshops
  • Action oriented and forward thinking always with safety in mind
  • Creative problem-solving approach and able to work with limited support or direction
  • Clear communication style with attention to detail for clear documentation
  • Able to work well in situations with complexity and diverse action items
  • Enjoy working first and foremost with people as it relates to change management and facilitating to large groups of diverse stakeholders
  • Team oriented person who is enthusiastic about cross functional collaboration
  • Solid skills in Microsoft office, especially Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Practical "can-do" attitude
