Senior Manager, Workforce Solutions

Leads and directs the activities of multiple large departments or several managers and specialists.

Job Description:

The Head of Workforce Solutions will play a crucial role in driving our mission to deliver real-time insights, optimize operations, and enable scalable solutions across the Fund Ecosystem. This role is a testament to our commitment to leveraging data and technology to enhance productivity and focus on value-added tasks.

The Head of Workforce Solutions will oversee three key areas: Operational Data and Analytics, Technology Enabled Optimization (TEO), and AI thought leadership. By uniting these functions, we aim to create a cohesive strategy that aligns technology solutions with business goals, transforms raw data into actionable intelligence, and drives process automation and workflow reengineering. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that our operations are not only efficient but also innovative and forward-thinking through partnered delivery with our technical, operations, and product teams.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Manages multi-year, cross-divisional programs independently as a lead for the Fund Ecosystem with respect to Operational Data & Analytics, Process Optimization utilizing technology solutions and the integration of GenAI. Drives all phases of the solutions from inception through implementation while ensuring that business objectives are delivered with high quality and within targeted timeframes.
  • Develops and maintains broad knowledge and awareness of Financial Services industry forces, competition, and trends to act as a trusted advisor for Data & Analytics, Technology Optimization and GenAI.
  • Creates and maintains a multi-year program strategy that clearly identifies specific actions and tasks needed to achieve future state goals. Drives communication to many different audiences within Vanguard on the overall goals and outcomes of the program.
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships across sites, departments, divisions, and internal and external partners to support their program initiatives. Develops strong relationships with Operations leaders, Technology and Product teams.
  • Holds responsibility over budget; monitoring cost variances, and forecasting and allocating program costs. Ensures all steps are taken to mitigate risk and maintains control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years of related business experience, with at least six years of data & analytics experience. Previous people-leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
