Senior Manager, Third Party Risk Management

The TPRM Senior Manager will be responsible for the oversight, enhancement and embedding of the European Third-Party Risk Management framework, in close alignment with the global Third Party Risk Management function. The role will play a key part in the resilience of the European business to strengthen the control environment and meet regulatory requirements.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and management of third party risk management programs and risk mitigation in Europe. Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates risk. Leads the development and execution of key control monitoring to evaluate control effectiveness. Aligns with key third party functions, such as Procurement, to ensure Europe has a best in class third party oversight strategy, to meet regulatory requirements and is globally aligned.
  • Builds strategic relationships to coordinate control and governance activities across business lines, fostering awareness and accountability. Partners with senior stakeholders locally and globally to ensure robust governance and oversight of third-party risk across European business lines.
  • Identifies and proposes resolutions for gaps across all divisions and processes. Ensures compliance with regulations, mitigates enterprise-wide business risk, and oversees continuous improvement of processes. From time to time is required to liaise with the UK & Irish regulators as a subject matter expert.
  • Leads periodic assessments and educates senior partners on business controls, recommending enhancements for effectiveness.
  • Build collaboration across the three lines of defence, reducing duplication and minimising disruption to business stakeholders.
  • Provide training, coaching and capability uplift across first line of defence teams to embed best practice and ensure sustainable improvements.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry best practice in control and controls testing, ensuring alignment and proactive adaptation of the framework.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, simplify processes, and enhance efficiency.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Considerable operational experience with a number of years in third party risk related work experience.
  • Leadership experience within a third party risk/ oversight function required.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • Experience within asset management or financial services, with strong knowledge of business processes and operating models.
  • Proven track record of building and embedding a third party risk management framework aligned to European regulatory requirements and embedding sustainable practices.

  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and influencing skills across a matrixed organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, delivery focused mindset.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels, from business teams to senior leadership.
  • Ability to coach and upskill team members, fostering capability uplift across the first line of defence.
