Cloud Engineering Team within Vanguard's IIG division has an amazing opportunity to further your expertise and demonstrate technical leadership. This resource will partner to lead, design, and implement solutions that will have divisional impact, as the primary technician to lead IIG's Cloud engineering transformation initiatives. This is a great opportunity to join our growing team and work with a variety of cloud native AWS services to develop full stack solutions, that will service multi-functional teams across IIGT.

This is a unique opportunity to make impact with IIG Cloud Practice. You will partner closely with members of the IIG leadership team, IIG Architecture, AWS Cloud Platform teams and product development teams to find efficient ways to scale and lower cloud costs. This role will help build applications that generate efficiencies within our internal AWS cloud technology stack and focus on driving significant impact for IIG Business. In this role, you will:
  • Plan and implement new technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprise-wide IT cloud platform projects. Design, implement, and deploy cloud computing systems to support and meet business needs. Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
  • Provide expert level technical support and ensure reliable operation of cloud production. Diagnose and solve the most complex issues for cloud computing systems on multiple platforms. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.
  • Develop technical standards. Test and evaluate IT vendor products. Review configuration parameters to optimize system performance and enhance operation uptime
  • Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provide follow up production support. Submit change control requests and documents.
  • Learn and understand client area business functions and requirements. Figure out appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs.
  • Train and mentor more junior staff on processes and technologies. Troubleshoot and resolve the most complex issues elevated from staff. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.
  • Administer system activities. Write the technical portion of assigned deliverables. Perform systems analysis, including system requirements analysis and definition, and logical design.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes:
  • Welcome challenges with enthusiasm, high-energy, and urgency
  • Work with architects and other IT and business groups to identify technical and functional needs of applications based on priority
  • Design and build cost-efficient cloud-native solutions for cross-functional, multi-platform internal and client facing applications
  • Ability to decipher complex, ambiguous customer needs and translate into optimal feature delivery
  • Thinks in terms of architecture as well as code. Able to develop and evaluate solutions for strengths and weaknesses (e.g., complexity, quality, scalability, latency, security, performance, data integrity, etc.) which are key for an enterprise engineer
  • Experience working with AWS technologies ECS, Lamda, EC2, Docker, Fargate, Step functions, CloudWatch, etc.
  • Experience with Security stacks such as IAM, Okta OIDC, Auth0, Secrets Manager, etc.
  • Understands software engineering standard processes (e.g. CI\CD automated pipelines, Operational Excellence, Information Security IAM)
  • Experience with application integration via APIs/REST, API Gateways, KONG.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers
  • Desire to quickly grow your expertise and learn.
  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
