Vanguard's Personal Investor Technology division is hiring a team of senior engineers to help seamlessly upgrade legacy batch processes from Mainframe technologies to Cloud. The modernized solution uses AWS, a fully managed serverless compute service with workload-aware cluster scaling logic, maintaining event integrations and managing runtimes.
You will continuously deliver solutions that also satisfy business needs. As a member of the core services to the division, your work is essential as we reengineer Mainframe batch applications that deliver 100% functional efficiency. What it takes
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience working on a Cloud modernization project.
- Knowledge and experience of cloud batch concepts and technologies
- Proven experience using AWS services (Attunity, Kinesis, Glue, S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Aurora RDS, DynamoDB, Cloud Formation) .
- Have experience with software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms.
- Strong, proven analysis and analytical skills
- Prior investment/financial services industry
- Expertise in Full product life cycle and IT vendor product assessment
- Architecture design with a wide range of technologies within technical specialty - from state of the art to legacy systems
- Performance and stress testing with security, migration, and integration
- AWS certification is preferable in one of the following domains: AWS Developer, Architect
- Experience in engineering at least one of AWS services such as EC2, Cloud formation, EMR, AWS S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambda etc.
- Experience in Python and Java.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like Bamboo, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Ansible, Nexus, etc.
