Vanguard is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our Fund Accounting & Oversight Team as a Manager - Fund Accounting! In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a team responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and trust-related activities. Your expertise in fund accounting will be critical. You will need to understand the factors impacting mutual funds and NAV, articulate the history of fund accounting, and address inquiries from business partners both within and outside of finance. The ability to investigate and provide clear explanations for fund movements is essential to maintaining regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance, training, and motivation. Hires, evaluates, and counsels personnel. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback, and recommends wage increases.
- Develops and implements operational plans with the Fund Accounting Manager. Assists in planning and implementing short and long-term goals. Analyzes costs and develops cost-effective solutions. Coordinates daily accounting for mutual funds.
- Demonstrates initiative and creativity in developing departmental objectives. Works with management to achieve departmental, divisional, and corporate goals.
- Participates in developing the departmental business plan and budget. Manages expenses and operates within budgetary guidelines.
- Accepts responsibility for the team's progress and measures success in meeting objectives. Ensures operational efficiency and effectiveness. Sets measurable goals and seeks ways to improve performance.
- Champions Vanguard Unmatchable Excellence efforts, emphasizing minimizing business risk. Validates trends and takes corrective action.
- Promotes relationship management and fosters effective communication. Anticipates client needs and ensures satisfaction.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties to advance the organization.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of financial experience, including 5 years in fund accounting, and a minimum of 2 years in a direct leadership role.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with diverse responsibilities, and proven ability to develop and implement new business plans or adapt existing ones in a dynamic setting.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent judgment and analytical skills to respond to issues effectively.
- This is a hybrid role with 3 days in-office. These are rotating days and must be available Mon-Fri.
