Fund Services & Operations Resiliency and Oversight, Manager
Vanguard has an opportunity open for an experienced and forward-thinking leader of Fund Services & Operations Resiliency and Oversight. This role is central to shaping how we manage risk, build control resilience, and foster a risk-smart, resilient culture across the Fund Ecosystem Organization which includes Back Office Operations (Fund Services & Oversight - FSO), IMG Services (Enterprise Investment Services - EIS), and Middle Office Operations (Enterprise Investment Services).
As a leader of this function, you will be a part of a global team supporting Back Office Operations, focused on evolving our resiliency practices, overseeing control assurance across both manual and automated controls (including AI-enabled processes), and driving the development of an automated control ecosystem. You will also define and clarify business risk and control responsibilities, support Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), and deliver robust reporting on resiliency health and expectations for control owners and key business partners.

Responsibilities:
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Leads in the management of business controls oversight activities for multiple business lines. Identifies, measures, and monitors operational risk, and provides clarity of policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Makes key decisions that provide strategic direction for divisional/business controls. Leads and manages the development, implementation, and management of control management programs and risk mitigation. Maintains accordance with industry best practice, defined standards, domestic regulatory requirements, or other standard management processes.
- Builds and maintains strategic relationships to support the business controls oversight framework. Coordinates control activities across departmental and business lines.
- Leads overall divisional/business control programs for Vanguard, both internally and externally. Manages the documentation of control activities. Identifies divisional/business risks or gaps and recommends and manages continuous improvement of processes across the enterprise. Ensures compliance with regulations and mitigates enterprise-wide business risk.
- Maintains a high level of Vanguard and industry knowledge. Keeps current on Vanguard policies and objectives, continues to expand knowledge of the business and industry, and keeps current on competition.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years related work experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
