Join Vanguard's Fund Accounting team, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of our fund accounting and trade settlement activities. You'll collaborate with internal Finance teams, gain insight into middle office functions, and serve as first line of defense in protecting the integrity of our fund accounting.
Core Responsibilities
1. Performs fund accounting oversight of the outsourced providers. Conducts checks and balances to reduce business financial risk. Ensures that the processes are performed within the prescribed tolerances and control framework. Oversees the completion of deliverables for assigned tasks as needed to support the team's oversight activities.

2. Supports the management team with review of daily, weekly and monthly fund accounting deliverables. Serves as subject matter and technical expert, identifies and resolves complex operational issues.
3. Recognizes opportunities and recommends process improvements to gain efficiencies and ensure quality.
4. Independently identifies issues, investigate root cause of errors and recommends solutions to mitigate risk. Exercises judgment in elevating material issues to management.
5. Prepares reporting for internal and external clients and maintains effective working relationships with them as well as business partners.
6. Provides technical expertise and guidance to other team members to achieve highest levels of performance. Serves as an escalation point for junior or new team members.
7. Adheres to various control standards to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. Documents any areas of control weaknesses and recommended improvement measures to the management team.
8. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years related work experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Finance or Accounting degree preferred.
- Strong ability to work independently with effective time and task management
- Proven stakeholder management and communication skills
- Solid analytical skills with attention to detail
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred skills and experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Tableau or Power BI
- Fund accounting or investment operations experience
