Divisional Risk Advisor, Senior Specialist

Vanguard Global Risk & Security (GR&S) is seeking a Senior Risk Advisor to support Vanguard's Financial Advisor Services (FAS) division. We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Digital and Analytics Senior Risk Advisor to lead and support risk management initiatives across digital platforms, AI technologies, and data-driven products within FAS. This role is pivotal in ensuring our organization's digital transformation is secure, compliant, and resilient against emerging threats. This role will advise business leaders regarding risks related to data governance, AI/ML initiatives, and Digital transformation projects for the FAS division. This role will partner with the business and IT Risk to identify and remediate top digital risks, establish risk tolerance, and ensure risks are properly mitigated.
This role reports to the FAS Risk Director and is skip level to the FAS Chief Risk Officer.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Digital Risk Oversight
- Identify, assess, and monitor risks related to digital products, platforms, and services, applying risk methodology to those risks
- Be accountable for the timely completion of risk projects and ensuring risk work is creating the desired outcomes
- Partner with IT Risk, Information Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to develop a comprehensive view of digital risk to the business
- Data Risk Oversight
- Apply and maintain a data risk governance framework in partnership with FAS Data team
- Identify, assess, and monitor risks related to data lifecycle
- AI Risk Governance
- Evaluate AI/ML use cases for ethical, regulatory, business and operational risks.
- Ensure AI use case approval adheres to enterprise governance policies
- Collaborate with business teams (e.g. data product, and engineering teams) to embed controls in AI lifecycle management
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with cross-functional teams (IT, Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering) to align risk strategies with business goals.
- Communicate risk posture and mitigation plans to senior leadership
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of Vanguard, the FAS business, and its digital strategy. Independently stay informed of industry trends and developments to maintain strong business- and risk-acumen. Share learnings and perspective with the risk team and business partners

Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years related work experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
