Commissioning Engineer –
JLL is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Commissioning Engineer to provide reliable, timely, efficient support to our Commissioning & Building Analytics (CBA) team. The position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external Stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and the individual will require the independent judgement to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment. This successful candidate will be detail oriented with strong organizational skills, and a team player attitude.
In particular, you will be responsible for carrying out the following duties specific to your position:
- Have fluency with all commissioning processes and deliverables covered in ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED commissioning requirements
- Expertise in Mechanical and Plumbing equipment/systems inspections, testing and associated commissioning activities with a strong understanding of electrical, fire protection, and control systems
- Monitor, review, and execute all facets of Commissioning related projects by providing exceptional technical and field activities. In addition, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong management and technical functions throughout the design, pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases of projects.
- Liaise with facilities management and engineering services team members, outside consultants and contractors to assist CBA in leading cross functional teams on various projects.
- The candidate will protect JLL’s contractual position and ensure our work meets contracted requirements
- Understanding and capability of how to develop strong Commissioning Plans and Commissioning Specifications
- Manage or jointly manage commissioning projects developing commissioning activity schedules and sequence-of-work.

- Site visits
- Develop Start-up and test forms; witness and approve contractor execution
- Develop Functional Test scripts; manage, direct and witness execution
- Develop Integrated Systems Test scripts, direct and witness execution
Additional Expectations
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to client sites across the USA om as-needed basis

Qualifications
Required:
- A recognized university technical degree or equivalent. Engineering Degree is preferred
- LEED AP certification
- Experience in the use of mechanical testing meters and equipment and analyze and report on test results including portable data loggers, air flow meters, TAB reports, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in testing mechanical and HVAC&R systems including chilled water plants, AHUs/RTUs/DOAS units, boilers, thermal storage systems, building management & automation systems, fire protection systems, plumbing equipment and systems, and other commercial and industrial heating and cooling systems
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering and/or field-testing experience with minimum of 5 years in providing building commissioning
- Strong data management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Project, Word, and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple project schedule inputs/performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project/program status reports as required.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and report against contractor (and other third party) schedule updates received
Desired:
- Professional Engineer/PE or PMP designation is considered an asset
- Any (or combination) of CEM/CBCP/CPMP designations is considered an asset
- Master Mechanic License is not required but an asset
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally when needed
- Work fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
- Ability to use electrical testing meters and equipment and analyze and report on test results including Power Quality Meters (PQM), thermography, NETA tests, ground tests, hi-pot, megger, etc. is an asset
- Experience working in a consultancy or owner organization is an asset
- Experience working as a Facility Manager is an asset
- Experience working as an operating engineer in a data center or other mission critical facility is an asset
