General Summary:
The Solutions Partner Consultant serves as the primary point contact for clients in the Total Leave digital ecosystem in support of their full suite of benefit products. Incumbents are responsible for consulting on all client benefit service support needs throughout the entire client lifecycle post sale, including plan requirements and plan design changes, training and education needs and digital adoption. The Solutions Partner Consultant must partner effectively with and influence external and internal partners towards providing proactive support and client issue resolution.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides proactive expertise and support to clients in the Total Leave digital ecosystem, inclusive of full suite of benefit products.
- Serves as subject matter expert and main point of contact for all client benefit service support needs throughout the entire client lifecycle post sale.
- Analyzes data and digital adoption KPIs and identifies trends/opportunities for improvement to develop client specific digital adoption strategies. Influence the client to adopt digital solutions.
- Provide proactive and on-going support for clients, HR groups & Brokers regarding plan requirements and plan design changes, in partnership with the Solutions Offering team and the Field.
- Serves as Total Leave point contact for the field organizations in conjunction with the Solutions Partner Liaison.
- Utilizes expertise in our benefit products, solutions and digital ecosystem and capabilities to problem solve, recommend actions, resolve issues, and identify solutions.
- Effectively evaluates clients' requests to develop and implement client level approach to address education opportunities or influence benefit plan designs and/or technology roadmap as appropriate.
- Collaborates with others, technology, product management, field, operations, as needed in order to address clients' needs.
- Provides initial and ongoing training for clients:
- In partnership with onboarding teams, offers initial training to preview capabilities and support implementation, including initial portal training.
- Proactively conducts outreach and education around TL digital ecosystem, portal enhancements, new capabilities and future technology releases.
- Provides consultative upfront and on-going support for client HR groups & Brokers, in partnership with the field, regarding claims submission, reporting, processes, plan requirements, etc.
- Builds agreement on actions by resolving conflicts in an open and positive manner.
- Support client visits as needed.
- Coordinates in partnership with Benefit compliance, readiness audits with operational management as required.
- Tracks data for client trend analysis and prepares appropriate material for client meetings. Coordinates with the operational management and the Field.
- Support and mentor peers and new team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- Four-year degree or equivalent industry experience
- Proficient in Solutions and Unum product portfolio
- Ability to build and maintain trusted customer relationships, where influencing stakeholders, internally and externally is imperative
- Strong change management skills and ability to bring others along
- Effective communication skills to convey service expectations and needs to Solutions/Benefit operations
- Claims management/processing experience, preferred
- Demonstrated influencing, collaboration, and client relationship management expertise
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of underwriting and risk concepts, preferred
- Demonstrated presentation skills to internal/external audiences (including Sr. levels of management)
- Strong data-driven decision making and problem-solving skills
- Occasional travel

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$75,500.00-$142,700.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
