General Summary:

Unum has an opportunity to join our Platform Partnerships organization as a Program Manager for our Gathr platform, where you will oversee the planning and execution of learning initiatives for Gathr - Colonial Life's benefits and HR technology platform.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for driving change, experience building out enrollments on various platforms, strong presentation skills, a self-starter with excellent business acumen. This position will be responsible for onboarding assigned learner groups to the Gathr platform and will collaborate with key business areas to identify training needs, design and/or revise curriculum, and deliver high-quality learning experiences that result in agent and client adoption.

This role focuses on Colonial Life field and broker partners.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, learning, and development or related field or equivalent related work experience is required.
  • Minimum 5+ years (combined) business, financial industry, business functional experience and/or experience in learning, education, or organizational development.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others with a specific focus on technical training
  • Experience helping others navigate technology required.
  • Passion for helping brokerage offices utilize benefits or HR technology and/or enrollment build experience preferred.
  • Strong instructional design/content development acumen
  • Excellent people leadership and aptitude towards management skills. Experience managing others without direct authority.
  • Effective collaboration, consultation, and communication with the team and business partners
  • Ability to apply creative and innovative problem-solving abilities to best meet the changing demands of the enterprise.
  • Strong track record in managing concurrent multiple projects, tasks, and priorities in a fast paced, changing, demanding environment with quality results.
  • Ability to understand and apply multiple delivery methods, such as in-person and virtual classroom, web-based, social networking, and self-paced skill development.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong relationships and partnerships with others, at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing event plans, agendas, and content
  • Naturally curious, comfortable with ambiguity and willing to change the status quo.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong consultation, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
  • Understands company business strategy, goals, and responsibilities to shareholders.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Onboard and develop assigned learner group by determining the competencies needed to achieve strategic and individual development goals, providing consistent coaching, recognition, and feedback.
  • Execute on training strategy through analysis, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of solutions.
  • Lead implementation and management of training programs, projects, and initiatives to improve overall learning experience and engagement of Gathr users.
  • Collect and analyze data, including utilization metrics and trends, business indicators, and partner feedback. Communicate findings, including learner proficiency and program performance, to Program Director, partners, and stakeholders to identify and respond to continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Consult with business SMEs, instructional designers, curriculum, delivery, and digital learning resources to elicit learning requirements, including desired learning outcomes, scope, audience, and timing. Builds consulting competency in others.
  • Initiate collaboration, as a trusted business partner, with critical stakeholders using influencing skills to gain genuine understanding and agreement on learning solutions implemented.
  • Apply creative problem-solving to best meet the changing needs of assigned learner groups, proactively anticipating and planning for skill development needs and leveraging the collective expertise of the Gathr Team to develop the best possible solutions.
  • Evaluate the value proposition of learning programs through metrics, analytics, and ROI and demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset - continually looking for better, more efficient, and effective ways to deliver on all learning initiatives. Communicate with business partners and others, so they are aware of learner proficiency and program performance.
  • Apply best practices and industry trends to learning solutions. Actively research and seek to evolve and modernize our approach to learning effectiveness.
  • Employ change leadership strategies to embrace, drive and guide others through change, including building change management competencies in others.
  • Apply an understanding of broader business strategy in developing supporting learning strategy(s).
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$75,500.00-$135,900.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
