General Summary:

The Assistant Vice President of CX Growth Analytics is responsible for leading a technical team that drive Demand Generation revenue growth and enables data-driven decision-making. The Growth Analytics team delivers analytics that fuel strategic growth with new and inforce customers, from target account identification, prioritization and qualification, to performance analysis, reporting and optimization. This requires building consistent measurement frameworks that align with financial reporting methods, managing data strategy, and advancing our MarTech data pipelines.

The leader must develop and grow a multidisciplinary team-including Data Science, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Marketing Analytics Operations. Expertise is required in building a B2B ecosystem of advanced analytics, data enablement, marketing technology tools, and process automation, to deliver performance measurement, and drive optimization and process efficiencies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Translate buyer engagement data into actionable and measurable outcomes; identify success patterns to help the leadership team optimize sales.
    • Optimize how buying groups are managed, measured, and monetized. Provide advanced analytical generation processes, including engagement thresholds, account reach, quote rates, engagement levels, conversion rates, close ratios, and incremental premium delivery insights that provide visibility and strategic guidance across buyer engagement (buying group engagement mix, frequency and compositions), and sales outcomes to support strategic decisions.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of demand generation process, including engagement thresholds, account reach, quote rates, engagement levels, conversion rates, close rations, and incremental premium delivery.
    • Foster alignment across Marketing, Sales, and Finance to ensure demand generation capabilities scale with business growth.
    • Stay abreast of emerging trends in B2B marketing and data science; translate market developments into strategic insights.
  • Work cross-functionally with leaders to establish shared goals and KPIs, and a consistent measurement strategy across the CXO (Marketing and Field Effectiveness), Sales and Finance; define metrics aligned to organizational goals.
    • Model opportunity mix and close ratios needed by segment in support of annual sales premium targets and translate these into quarterly goals.
    • Support performance review cadences such as monthly internal performance reviews, quarterly business reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
    • Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards for various stakeholders
  • Data Strategy & Infrastructure Stewardship
    • Lead the design and execution of a data and measurement strategy to enable cross-functional alignment and consistency.
    • Align go-to-market functions through shared insights, integrated processes, and consistent data standards.
    • Identify and implement process improvements and enhancements to data flow.
  • Marketing Analytics Operations:
    • Aggregate and enrich third party and internal data to identify addressable market, and prioritize prospect target accounts
    • Design data pipelines to identify and qualify engaged prospects and route them to the field in a measurable, actionable manner.
    • Evaluate and enhance the marketing technology stack to improve productivity, efficiency, and the buyer experience.
    • Improve integration between systems and implement automation to reduce manual work.
    • Manage and enhance buying group architecture and administration.
  • Technical Data Science Leadership
    • Lead and mentor a team of Data Science and Technology professionals.
    • Oversee the integration of large data volumes from platforms such as SQL Server, GCP/AWS, and Teradata.
    • Apply data validation, aggregation, and reconciliation techniques to prepare modeling-ready data.
    • Use advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to build predictive models and drive insights.
    • Ensure best practices in development (e.g., test-driven development, code reviews, retrospectives).
    • Translate analytical findings into business value and strategic direction.
    • Integrate solutions into business processes using automation and scalable technologies.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred
  • Background in CS-Math /Data Science/ Operational research
  • 10+ years of experience in Advanced Analytics or Technology, with a preference for experience in Customer Experience, Marketing, Sales, or Revenue Operations.
  • Deep understanding of the B2B buying process; experience in finance or sales is a plus.
  • Proven leadership and management experience across diverse technical and strategic roles.
  • Expertise in analytics and data tools (e.g., SQL, Teradata, AWS, GCP), data visualization platforms, and statistical modeling.
  • Strong programming, software engineering, and statistical knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to align operations and/or cross-functional teams with revenue goals and metrics.
  • Skilled at bridging theoretical models with practical applications and explaining complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Innovative leader who encourages smart risk-taking and inspires resourcefulness.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop talent.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$133,500.00-$274,100.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
