We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Instructional Designer who will also serve as a Clinical Trainer. This hybrid role is ideal for a Registered Nurse (RN) with a solid background in instructional design and adult learning principles. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs for clinical staff, ensuring alignment with operational goals and regulatory standards. As well, this is a hybrid role with 50/50 instructional design, documentation, and virtual training delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Design & Development
    • Conduct needs assessments and discovery sessions with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify training gaps and performance improvement opportunities
    • Design and develop engaging, effective learning solutions using blended modalities (e-learning, instructor-led, virtual)
    • Create and maintain training materials, and multimedia content using tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Develop procedural documentation, job aids, and SOPs using a content management system such as DMS or Service Now
    • Apply adult learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE) to ensure content effectiveness and learner retention
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align training with business goals and comp
  • Clinical Training & Facilitation
    • Deliver clinical training to nursing and healthcare staff, including onboarding, continuing education, and competency assessments
    • Serve as a clinical subject matter expert, ensuring training content reflects current best practices and regulatory guidelines
    • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics
  • Project & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead training projects from inception to completion, including timelines, stakeholder engagement, and reporting
    • Review and provide feedback on training materials developed by peers to ensure consistency and accuracy
    • Act as a liaison between clinical operations and instructional design teams to ensure seamless integration of training initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) compact license
  • 3+ years of experience in clinical practice
  • 2+ years of experience in instructional design, development, and virtual facilitation in a training role
  • Experience in healthcare operations such as telemedicine, utilization management, case management, or nurse advice lines
  • Proficiency in instructional design tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Snagit) and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Oracle Learn, Cornerstone)
  • Demonstrated solid communication, facilitation, and project management skills
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word and PowerPoint, Excel, Teams
  • Awareness of LMS standards and SCORM files
  • Proven solid analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and fact-based decision-making abilities
  • Proven expert ability in verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated excellent time management

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
