This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm EST. Our office is located at 1 Guthrie Square Sayre PA 18840.

We offer weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be based on your schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to navigate through an electronic health record, release of information module to accurately select the necessary documentation for release.
  • For e-consults will gather information from Epic in PDF format according to provider order and process guidelines. Gather additional supporting records to attach to e-Consult request ie. X-ray and cardiology images.
  • Respond to record requests according to HITECH, HIPPA, CMS and other federal, state, and hospital specific rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Verify patient authorization meets HIPPA, state and hospital regulations.
  • Provide positive customer service in timely manner to onsite requestors as well as to requests received via phone, fac and electronic means.
  • Work in collaboration with Patient Safety, Compliance, Billing and Auditing departments.
  • Routinely access and safeguard confidential information.
  • Participate in departmental quality monitoring and improvement process.
  • Open and distribute department mail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
  • Keep abreast of changes in ROI module associated with Epic upgrades.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 1+ years of experience within a clinical or hospital healthcare setting
  • Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm EST.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Health Care ROI (release of information)
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records
  • Experience with medical records documents and processing protected health information (PHI)

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Exceptional telephone etiquette and computer skills
