We're looking for a Release Train Engineer to join Optum UK - a key leadership role within our Agile Release Train (ART). You'll be supporting Product Owners, Engineers and Delivery Leads to deliver strategic outcomes, foster innovation, and champion agile best practices across the value stream.
What you'll do
As a Release Train Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our scaled agile delivery, guiding multiple Agile teams and enabling them to deliver high-quality software that supports better healthcare outcomes. You'll facilitate key ceremonies, remove impediments, and drive alignment across teams and stakeholders.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Leading Program Increment (PI) Planning and ART ceremonies, ensuring readiness and smooth execution
- Coaching Agile teams and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Supporting backlog refinement and economic decision-making with Product Management
- Driving flow of value through the ART using agile metrics and flow optimisation techniques
- Collaborating with Release Management and Solution Delivery to align release schedules and documentation
- Facilitating retrospectives and Inspect & Adapt sessions to embed learning and improve processes
- Managing risks, dependencies and change across ARTs and functions
- Representing Optum UK at industry events and contributing to audit activities (e.g. ISO 27001/9001)

Key skills and experience we're looking for:
- Experience with agile methodologies including SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, AgilePM or DSDM
- Proven track record of leading Agile teams and facilitating scaled agile delivery
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
- Experience working with distributed teams and offshore development
- Comfortable managing risks, dependencies and change in complex environments
