The role:

Reporting to the CIO, the VP of Enterprise Data & Analytics will lead UKG's enterprise data strategy, including platform modernization, Master Data Management, and enterprise-wide analytics. This strategic leader will drive innovation and data-driven decision-making by partnering across the organization to establish standards and improve data quality. They will lead an 'insights-as-a-service' function, delivering models, analytics, and insights that explain the why behind the what to inform business decisions. Strong strategic thinking and executive communication skills are essential to promote data as a strategic asset and help business leaders realize its full value.

This candidate will have a combination of deep knowledge of the full data lifecycle and the ability to define and implement a strategic plan. The successful candidate will be a motivational and collaborative leader who will help UKG adapt and grow in an increasingly complex industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a forward-looking enterprise data strategy in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a Master Data Management strategy to ensure a single source of truth and high-quality, consistent data.
  • Modernize and consolidate data platforms to improve accessibility, scalability, and usability across the enterprise.
  • Drive an insights-as-a-service model, delivering predictive analytics and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide strategic guidance using data science, analytics, and industry trends to identify and pursue business opportunities.
  • Inspire and lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex programs aligned with business goals.
  • Champion program management excellence, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Efficiently manage resources while balancing multiple high-impact initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven product development.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, complex technology initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Demonstrated success in Data Governance, including Master Data Management, policy development, and compliance oversight.
  • Track record of delivering enterprise-wide data and analytics solutions on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Deep expertise in modern data architecture, AI/ML, cloud platforms, DataOps, MLOps, and data governance technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud ecosystems and experience building scalable data solutions within them.
  • Passion for innovation and staying ahead of emerging trends in data and analytics.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to build and communicate a compelling vision that garners cross-functional support.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, team building, and coaching high-performing teams.
  • Broad technical depth across data science, analytics tools, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience enabling data innovation through governance, partnerships, and scalable infrastructure in large organizations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 15+ years of experience in data and analytics, including 10+ years in a senior leadership role.

The pay range for this position is $227,600 to $326,200, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
