Description
UKG is seeking a Senior DevOps Developer to join our internal engineering operations and support team. In this role, your customers are developers throughout the rest of the organization. Your responsibilities will vary daily with a constant goal of providing timely, first class support and environment operations to developers as part of an Agile team.

This position requires customer focus, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both alone and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or SaaS engineering preferably with GCP knowledge. This position requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support for all engineering (non-production) environments, infrastructure, and systems including Micro services deployments, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Automate repetitive tasks with scripts, code or tools like Ansible.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure that engineering environments are running effectively at all times
• Follow runbooks as well as utilize troubleshooting skills to restore service quickly in the event of an outage with a sense of urgency.
• Actively monitor the application & infrastructure in engineering environments, react to alerts properly and perform root cause analysis.
• Perform validations after scheduled changes within specified maintenance windows ensuring proper functionality.
• Provide day to day support to 1000+ engineering organization through a support queue following stated SLAs and processes.
• Candidate is expected to insist on high standard deliverable from solution providers and to customers driving customer focus and customer obsession
• Enhance knowledge base documentation used throughout engineering to allow self-service wherever possible.
• Must be a team player who can mentor other team members, conduct demos, and share knowledge.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 3-5 years' experience in a technical support role or 3-5 years of engineering/DevOps experience with a strong support mindset.
• 3-5 years' experience using Linux (Redhat /centos is a plus).
• Experience with any of the mentioned configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or scripting languages such as Python, Java, Bash, or PowerShell to automate the setup and management of servers.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platform Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to automate the creation of infrastructure.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, team city etc. to automate the deployment process.
• Working experience with CI/CD pipeline and tooling (e.g., GitHub, Terraform, Ansible and DataDog)
• In-depth knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience in working in a team and collaborating with developers, testers, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Splunk
• Knowledge of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancers, etc.
• Understanding of security concepts and practices like Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption, etc.
• Version control systems like Git for source code management and collaboration.
• Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of agile methodologies like Scrum for software development and delivery.
• BS/BA Degree in Computer science or other Engineering discipline
