About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr Corporate Counsel- AI and Data Governance to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of the rapidly evolving fields of AI and data governance, providing legal guidance and support to our teams across UKG. You will play a critical role in ensuring UKG's AI technologies are developed and deployed in innovative ways while upholding UKG's principles and meeting customer and regulatory expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement a robust AI and data governance program that aligns with UKG's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Assist engineers, data scientists, and product developers with creating UKG's AI products and services to ensure they meet legal, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with UKG's AI systems to ensure fairness, non-bias, accuracy, and transparency, among other AI governance program goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, data science, security, and finance, to integrate AI and data governance into existing compliance, risk management, and software-development-lifecycle processes.
- Develop and deliver training programs on AI and data governance best practices to foster an ethical culture within the organization.
- In close collaboration with UKG's Director for Responsible AI and Data Governance, develop UKG's strategic plan as it relates to AI and data governance with key objectives and performance indicators.
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of UKG's AI and data governance practices and make recommendations for improvement.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in AI and data governance.
- Uphold the company's values and ethical standards in all actions and decisions
About You
Basic Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to AI and data governance.
- Understanding of the costs, data constraints, and technical challenges associated with artificial intelligence and their influence on AI product development.
- Understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape surrounding AI and data governance.
- Demonstrated experience identifying complex legal and strategic business issues and providing practical analysis and advice.
- Demonstrated experience advising companies on legal compliance related to AI or data governance, including developing policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law in the areas of AI and data governance.
- Experience with managing complex projects and navigating matrixed organizational dynamics.
- Technical understanding of data warehousing, database administration, and software development processes.
- Demonstrated experience to communicate with tact, diplomacy, and persuasiveness.
- Previous experience providing advice related to AI governance and AI regulation beneficial.

The pay range for this position is $142,100 to $204,200, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
