About the Team:
The Enterprise Solutions and Experience team is seeking a Principal IT Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing enterprise SaaS software and innovative solutions to enhance both agent and customer experiences. You will collaborate with a highly skilled and diverse group of individuals across the company and around the globe to address our top customer needs.
About the Role:
As a Principal Full Stack Developer at UKG, specializing in integrations and AI/ML, you will lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications and system integrations. You will leverage your expertise to build scalable full stack solutions, seamlessly integrate systems, and operationalize AI/ML models to drive innovation. This role combines hands-on development with strategic decision-making, while also providing mentorship and fostering a culture of technical excellence within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the strategic design and execution of org consolidation, complex data conversion and alignment with business goals
• Lead the architecture, design, and development of full stack applications, APIs, and integration frameworks.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement transformative features and enhancements.
• Build robust microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs for seamless interoperability across enterprise platforms.
• Provide expert technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers, guiding them in development and data migration best practices.
• Conduct hands-on code reviews and Peer Review (PR) approval. Enforce adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Identify and resolve advanced performance bottlenecks and, utilizing your extensive experience.
• Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive proof-of-concepts and new initiatives to enhance system intelligence and automation.
About You:
• 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2-3 years in a principal/lead role.
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and database management systems.
• Strong proficiency in full stack development using modern frameworks (React/Angular/Vue, Node.js/Java/.NET, Python).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven track record in API development, system integrations, and microservices architecture.
• Solid knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL), caching, and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience integrating ML models into production pipelines.
• Understanding of ML-Ops concepts (model deployment, monitoring, retraining).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on coding when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with integration platforms.
• Exposure to enterprise PSA/ERP/CRM systems.
• Knowledge of data security, compliance.
