About the Team:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer with a specialty in enclosure design for industrial and commercial electronics products using plastic injection molding. The successful candidate will be a senior member of our hardware design team, participate in the design and development of enclosures, and ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

About the Role:

  • Participate as a core member of the mechanical design team in the development of enclosures for industrial and commercial electronics products.
  • Design and develop plastic injection molded enclosures, ensuring they meet all functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic components.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews to ensure the robustness and reliability of designs.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
  • Oversee the prototyping, testing, and validation of enclosure designs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in mechanical design and plastic injection molding technologies.

About You:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on enclosure design for electronics products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Expertise in plastic injection molding processes and materials.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with thermal management and EMI shielding in enclosure design.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for electronics enclosures.
  • Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The pay range for this position is $112,300 to $161,400, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
