About the Role

This role will support non-English and non-Japanese speaking team members internally and externally with customers. The role's main function will be simultaneous live translation of customer meetings for non-Japanese speakers. Secondary functions will be material translation, internal meeting simultaneous translation from Japanese to English, and vice versa.

Your Impact In Role

• Attend customer meetings to support non-Japanese speaking team members in understanding and participating in the discussion
• Translate meetings simultaneously in person and online
• Learn the Uber/Restaurant business deeply so that context can be translated correctly in meetings
• Translate presentation materials when needed
• Attend industry and Uber events and support non-Japanese speakers
• Translate large internal meetings from English to Japanese
• Translate internal documents when needed

The Experience You'll Bring

• Bilingual or near-bilingual Japanese and English fluency
• Qualified English/Japanese Translation experience
• Effective stakeholder management capability
• Strong planning and organising skills
• Previous experience as an internal translator preferred
