Tax Counsel

About the Role

We're looking for a Tax Counsel to join our team and support new business lines and initiatives in Brazil. You'll play a key role in providing tax advisory, supporting compliance needs, and partnering with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects, collaborate across regions, and help shape scalable processes.

What you'll do

• Maintain a deep understanding of the business and assess the tax implications of new products, initiatives, and business lines in Brazil.
• Collaborate with local teams, providing expertise on global tax requirements and best practices.
• Support day-to-day tax advisory for initiatives and new products, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Assist management in completing special tax projects, ad-hoc reports, and analysis requests.
• Partner with internal teams to provide insights into tax impacts and support data-driven decision-making.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide the necessary documentation related to your areas of responsibility.
• Track new products and initiatives to ensure compliance with tax regulations and alignment with regional leadership.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in tax advisory, ideally within a Big 4 firm or law firm, with in-house experience at a Fortune 500 or multinational company preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field.
• Experience in international tax operations and understanding of global tax issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and take ownership of projects.
• Professional proficiency in English (fluent or advanced).
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus points

• Experience as a Tax Advisor rather than focusing on compliance.
• 5+ years of experience specializing in tax across multinational operations.
• Hands-on exposure to international tax regulations and their application to large-scale businesses.
