Strategy & Operations Manager, UK
About the Role
Uber Eats is looking to grow the Merchant Operations team in the UK. The mission of the Operations team is simple: make Uber Eats the preferred delivery platform for merchants, couriers, and eaters in all the cities and towns where we operate.
This is a unique and impactful role within our Merchant Operations team, designed for a strategic operator who is passionate about both optimizing the present and building the future.
Your mission will be twofold:
(1) To champion our merchant partners by creating a best-in-class, seamless operational experience. You'll dive deep into their entire journey to find and fix friction points in their day-to-day operations.
(2) To build the next wave of value for our merchants by expanding our ecosystem beyond delivery. You will identify and launch new products, services, and partnerships that unlock new revenue streams, reduce operating costs, and deepen long-term merchant loyalty.
This role requires you to be a versatile problem-solver, equally comfortable structuring an experiment to improve order accuracy as you are negotiating a partnership for a new merchant financing product. To achieve success, you will collaborate closely with local and regional operations teams, product, legal, marketing, and our commercial teams to define and execute our merchant strategy.
What You'll Do
- Optimise experience: Analyse data to identify the biggest friction points in the merchant journey (e.g., order accuracy, on-time preparation, payments) and execute initiatives to drive improvement.
- Build the future: Scope, validate, and launch new merchant-facing products and strategic partnerships, from initial concept and negotiation to go-to-market execution.
- Lead high-impact projects: Manage complex, cross-functional projects with Product, Legal, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to enhance our merchant tools, services, and offerings.
- Develop and manage partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with external partners to expand our ecosystem of merchant services (e.g., POS, financing, marketing solutions).
- Drive data-driven decisions: Build models, dashboards, and experiments to size new opportunities, validate solutions, and guide strategic prioritisation for both core operations and new ventures.
- Report and scale: Report performance and insights to leadership, codifying your findings into playbooks that raise the bar for operational excellence across the organisation.
