Strategic Operations Associate, Earner & Vehicles - Canada Mobility
About the Role
Uber is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Canada Mobility Operations team. If you love setting a vision, managing cross-functional partners, pushing projects forward to deliver strategically meaningful results, and solving problems from both 30,000 feet as well as deep in the details, this is the role for you!
We're generating vast amounts of data every day. We use this data to inform everything we do: ensure balance in the marketplace, identify ways to continually make the Uber experience better for earners and riders, deploy incentives and promotions, understand customer behavior, develop and launch new product offerings, and more. Strategic Operations Associates are responsible for developing strategies, such as how we balance our marketplace, target and deploy rider and driver promotions, manage markets within local regulations, launch new products and geographies, and identify and solve operational weaknesses to grow our rider and driver base.
About the Team
The Earner and Vehicles Operations Team drives business growth in Canada by growing our earner base, improving the earner experience, and expanding into new geographies and business lines. Additionally this team is responsible for growing products with niche vehicle requirements like sustainable products (Uber Green and Comfort Electric); luxury products (Uber Black) and accessible products (Uber WAV). In this role you will own the growth and engagement of one or more of these earner and vehicle segments as we grow and optimize all of our consumer offerings.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Ownership: Help develop, lead, and implement strategy to achieve business priorities
- Business Influence: Monitor, understand, and interpret key operational and financial metrics to help figure out strategy and action plans. Develop and apply understanding of the levers that move our business
- Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend best approach
- Process Optimization: Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes, regularly reviewing performance
- Business Growth: Find and engage new earner and vehicle segments (e.g. different geographies and vehicle types) to drive consumer growth
- Product Improvement: Proactively search for new features or improvements that could improve the experience on and efficiency of our marketplace, measure their impact and collaborate with Product teams to implement launches
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain productive working relationships with immediate team and cross-functional partners across operations, marketing, customer support, product, policy, and legal to scope, test and implement initiatives
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Required
- 1+ years' of professional work experience in a related field such as operations, marketing analytics, consulting, technology, strategy, or analytics
- Excel/Google Sheets proficiency
Preferred Qualifications

- 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, business intelligence, strategy or related experience
- Working knowledge in applying SQL, Python, R, Stata or similar statistical languages and tools
- Proficiency in French is a plus
- High-growth operations or startup experience is strongly preferred
- Customer service experience - you will be working closely with earners and ensuring they have any amazing experience on the Uber platform
- Phenomenal collaborator, and someone who proactively works across teams, able to influence senior and external stakeholders
- Storytelling through Data: Transform data analyses into an understandable storyline across tech and non-tech audiences in order to influence business decisions
- Data-Driven Mentality: Make strategic decisions based on data analysis and interpretation. Experience getting in the weeds of data, balanced with the ability to see the big picture
- Communication: Ability to interpret and present data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet succinct manner
- Teamwork: Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and promote a team environment where individuals can communicate and contribute freely. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreement
- Executional Excellence: Ability to work and accomplish multiple tasks in parallel, delivering results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, while maintaining high-quality work standards
- Planning & Organization: Ability to create detailed project plans with project stages, milestones, basic interdependencies, and owners
For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$89,000 per year - CAD$99,000 per year.
