Staff Application Developer

As a Staff Developer in the Business Applications team, you will be responsible for building solutions at a global scale and delivering a world-class Marketing and Sales experience for the UberEats Business on a global scale.

Your solutions will significantly impact Uber's results in areas of user growth, revenue, and global expansion. You will work closely with multi-functional teams to understand business requirements, integrate Salesforce with other systems, and ensure that our Salesforce environment supports our business goals with high efficiency and reliability.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development of technical architecture for complex systems, ensuring they are scalable, resilient, and efficient.
  • Evaluate and document the trade-off in technology choices, including performance, scalability, and maintainability, and provide clear rationale for decisions.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of the technical roadmap, aligning with business goals and objectives.
  • Advocate for and implement advanced design patterns and standard methodologies in software development.
  • Facilitate technical architectural discussions and workshops to drive consensus and shared understanding by working closely with other senior developers, architects, and partners to ensure that architectural decisions support both current and future needs
  • Design, develop, and implement Salesforce CRM solutions, adhering to standard methodologies in coding, security, and design patterns.
  • Build and configure APIs with internal and 3rd party cloud solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology and platform updates and propose adaptations to existing or new projects to improve performance and functionality.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, including code reviews, mentoring, and standard processes enforcement
  • Implement rigorous testing and QA methodologies to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Salesforce applications. This includes unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing using Salesforce's testing frameworks and third-party tools.
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Fix, debug, and upgrade existing implementation as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with Lead-to-Cash business processes and technologies, including Salesforce, CPQ, Gainsight, MDM, and other peripheral systems.
  • A minimum 8 years within in Salesforce application design and development with hands-on experience using Apex, Lightning, Visualforce, Flows, etc.
  • Write high-quality code, emphasizing reliability, readability, efficiency, and testability.
  • Validated knowledge of Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and/or Experience Cloud.
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations and API technologies (REST, SOAP, BULK).
  • Good understanding of database design and data management concepts.
  • Experienced with data management and data migration principles and applications.
  • Familiarity working with CI/CD tools (Copado, Git, Jenkins, Ant, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of application and infrastructure security principles, including experience with authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure communication protocols
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate optimally with partners at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with integration platforms, like MuleSoft.
  • Good interpersonal skills and exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses a genuine passion for technology, staying abreast of industry trends, and actively engaging in industry research.
  • Enjoys solving complex business problems through innovative solutions.
  • Salesforce Application and Platform Developer and/or Architect Certifications

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$183,000 per year - USD$203,000 per year.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
