About the Role
As a Tax Advisor at Uber, you'll play a key role in ensuring tax compliance and strategy alignment across our business lines and initiatives in Brazil. You'll maintain a deep understanding of our products and work closely with local teams to navigate complex tax landscapes, providing subject matter expertise on a wide range of tax issues. This includes VAT, CIT, withholding taxes, self-assessed obligations, and supplier/customer tax compliance. You'll support day-to-day advisory on new initiatives, manage special tax projects, contribute to audits, and provide clear insights that link tax implications with business decision-making. Your work will ensure our continued compliance, minimize risk, and help drive Uber's growth in the region.

What You'll Do
- Maintain deep knowledge of Uber's business and assess tax implications for all new business lines and initiatives in Brazil.
- Collaborate with local teams to offer expert guidance on tax obligations including VAT, CIT, withholding tax, and payment regulations.
- Advise on the tax impact of daily operations and product launches.
- Provide business teams with clear insights and recommendations based on tax analysis.
- Bridge the gap between tax and business units by using data to inform decisions.
- Monitor new products and initiatives to ensure compliance, while maintaining alignment with regional leadership.
- Support special projects, ad-hoc analyses, reporting, and audit preparation related to specific tax responsibilities.
What You'll Need
- 8+ years of experience in tax advisory, preferably from a Big 4 firm or law firm, with in-house corporate experience a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Law.
- Fluent or advanced English proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of international tax operations and multinational tax compliance issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- A strong ability to communicate complex tax analysis in a clear, human-centered narrative-you're fluent in both data and storytelling.
- A data-driven mindset that integrates tax considerations into growth and profitability strategies.
