Sr Strategy & Planning Associate

About the role

This is a critical role responsible for driving strategic thought leadership and shaping the future of Uber's business in Argentina. You will serve as a key strategic advisor to the Argentina General Manager, influencing strategic priorities, identifying new opportunities, and enabling data-driven decision-making in Latin America. This role will connect internal business intelligence with external market intelligence to drive insights and propose actions for long-term success.

What you'll do

• Lead strategic thought leadership: Drive strategic thinking, competitor research, business deep dives, and ambiguous problem-solving, acting as a strategic advisor to the General Manager for Argentina.
• Own business & market intelligence: Lead efforts in competitive knowledge, market research, data analysis, diagnostics, and business cases to identify improvements, new opportunities, and track performance for the Argentina market.
• Drive execution: Collaborate closely with the Argentina GM to develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans for the market, ensuring the translation of plans into successful real-world execution.
• Cultivate stakeholder partnerships: Build strong relationships and collaborate seamlessly with various internal teams (e.g., Operations, Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal/Tax) to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
• Foster high-performing teams: Support a talented team of operators, promoting a data-driven, problem-solving culture with a strong bias for action in a fast-paced environment.

• Undergraduate degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or another quantitative focus.
• Minimum of 6 years of robust work experience in strategy consulting, startups, business intelligence, market intelligence, operating, or general management roles, with a proven record of driving strategic insights.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and motivate teams.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to achieve goals.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.

• MBA is highly preferred.
• SQL proficiency for data analysis and performance monitoring.
• A strategic thinker with the ability to see and unlock new business opportunities, anticipate business trends, and maintain a data-driven decision-making mentality.
• A self-starter attitude with a strong bias for action and the ability to balance strong attention to detail with swift execution (80/20 mindset).
