About the Role

The Financial Products team is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Backend) to joing it's highly focused growth team with a mission to build out Uber's financial services. As one of the company's core strategic initiatives, the team is responsible for launching high-impact projects that push the boundaries of Uber's services and offerings and has a direct impact on the company's performance.

  1. Collaborate closely with product, design, and business teams to design and implement new product ideas and business needs with scalable solutions and frameworks
  2. Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
  3. Technical lead responsible for the team's technical design choices, code reviews, and reliability.

---- Basic Qualifications ----
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  2. 10+ year full-time Software Engineering work experience
  3. Programming language (GO, Java, C++)

---- Preferred Qualifications ----
  1. Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  2. Experience building high scalable critical system
  3. Experience leading and building resilient distributed systems
  4. Experience building financial services software e.g. trading, lending, credit card, payments.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$257,000 per year - USD$285,500 per year.
