About the Role

This isn't just a side project; it's one of Uber's most significant investments, designed to bring autonomous vehicles to our Rides and Eats services across all 10,000+ cities globally. As we navigate this exciting path, we face unique engineering puzzles:

  1. How do we ensure every Uber customer - from riders to eaters to merchants - enjoys a safe, clear, and truly magical experience, all without a human driver?
  2. What makes people embrace AVs? How do we build trust and excitement around these new, driverless experiences?
  3. How do we guarantee a rider's autonomous trip is always safe, informative, and reliable, from the moment of pickup to drop-off, even without a person behind the wheel?

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity.
