About the Role
We're looking for a bold and strategic Sr Safety Ops Manager to lead Safety Marketplace, Road Safety, and Delivery Safety across Mexico and ACAC.
You will identify and solve safety problems end-to-end, leveraging internal data, focus groups, and marketplace insights to uncover gaps. You will be partnering with the Product team to build impactful, low-friction solutions, and the product team bandwidth is tight, you'll design and execute operational fixes to close safety gaps quickly.
You will also manage and mentor one direct report, ensuring alignment, execution excellence, and professional growth within the safety team.

What you'll do:
- Build and lead the end-to-end safety strategy for Delivery, a critical and currently undefined focus area for the business.
- Own the road safety and marketplace agenda, proactively identifying, prioritizing, and addressing emerging trends.
- Partner with Product Ops, Engineering, Data Science and Legal teams to shape and influence safety features, policies, and innovations tailored to our marketplace needs.
- Translate regional safety goals into operational roadmaps with clear KPIs, cross-functional PoCs, and delivery milestones.
- Facilitate and lead complex, cross-functional working sessions, adapting communication style to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Define and articulate a clear vision for safety initiatives, soliciting diverse perspectives and transforming insights into action.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying broken or ineffective processes and pushing initiatives from problem to resolution.
- Produce high-quality outputs with the ability to ask the right questions, spot risks early, and uphold high executional standards.
- Regularly manage and align senior stakeholders, navigating competing interests while keeping safety and marketplace balance front and center.
- Serve as a key safety representative in leadership meetings, regulatory discussions, and incident response scenarios.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operations, product operations, program management, or safety/risk environments in fast-paced industries.
- Proven ability to get hands dirty-you're comfortable jumping into the weeds, operationalizing projects, and doing the work directly when needed. (We're a small team with big responsibilities, and we move fast.)
- Strong data management and analysis skills-you can pull, interpret, and operationalize data insights without needing constant support.
- Outstanding execution skills-you consistently deliver high-quality, scalable results across multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to operationalize complex initiatives, building clear action plans, resource needs, milestones, and contingency strategies.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and negotiation skills-you can work across Product, Ops, Legal, and Support teams, and negotiate with business leadership to gain support even when safety initiatives introduce operational friction or short-term trade-offs.
- A strong problem-solving mindset-you can define operational challenges, balance trade-offs, and move quickly toward practical, marketplace-sensitive solutions.
- A natural ownership mentality-you spot risks early, push for results, and don't wait for someone else to fix what's broken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in operational problem-solving, project management, and knows how to work with data within fast-paced industries.
- Experience managing and aligning cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Ops, Business) to drive project implementation and deliver operational impact.
- Proven ability to turn insights into operational actions-not just analysis but actual marketplace or user-facing changes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting complex topics to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Exposure to safety, risk management, or compliance environments is a strong plus, but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in mobility, delivery, logistics, or tech platforms preferred but not required.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
