About the Role

Head of Vertical Ops for ACAC Mobility will be responsible for co-crafting the Mobility strategy with ACAC GMs and delivering business results for ACAC, working closely with Central Ops and Cross Functional stakeholders based inside and outside the ACAC sub-region. The role also includes leadership of a team that is based in Panama, Costa Rica, Peru and Colombia.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • The candidate will be the right hand for ACAC RGM, helping to make key decisions regarding Marketplace, Driver, Rider, Safety, Payments and Fraud.
  • Work closely with ACAC GMs, S&P, as well as Central Teams and other subregions, providing thought leadership on these topics, as well as execution of regional projects for ACAC.
  • Collaborate proactively with functional areas (e.g. legal, finance, policy, comms) providing the ops perspective required to gain approvals to continue disrupting the way we do business/innovate
  • Lead an operations organization across ACAC to enable Uber to scale through high impact programs executed both centrally and localized
  • Manage the team that designs and executes processes across different areas including driver, rider, safety, marketplace and risk/fraud
  • Motivate and leverage existing and new staff to continually up-level their results, expectations, and stretch for increasingly higher levels of impact across all core operational metrics

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS/Masters in Economics, Business, Engineering, or other quantitative focus
  • 5-8 years of deep, hands-on management of functions that included combinations of the following: operations, analytics, and project management
  • Understanding of Mobility Marketplace
  • Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish highest value priorities and develop a strategy to pursue them
  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through excellent analytical thinking and experimentation
  • Creative solutions-driven mindset, with an "anything is possible" attitude. An innate ability to think strategically
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Rider, Driver, Safety, Payments, CommOps, Fraud, Connect
  • Knowledge of SQL is encouraged but not required
