Sr. Global Security Lead (East Coast)

About the Role

As the Sr. Security Lead - East Coast, you will be responsible for the security of Uber's people, properties, and assets throughout the region. You will work cross-functionally with local, regional, and HQ leadership to execute on global initiatives and priorities. You will own the development and execution of all security processes and programs in the region. This role reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Global Security and will be based out of our NYC office. Travel is required, up to 50%.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee security operations for all locations and staff on the East Coast.
  • Help coordinate response and incident management to address threats toward company staff, assets, and operations.
  • Educate key stakeholders on security principles and implementation.
  • Implement the Physical Security strategy in your region in alignment with the business goals.
  • Implement processes to define performance metrics - use data to make decisions.
  • Maintain strong relationships and effective communication across all regional business operations. Develop strong relationships with local law enforcement agencies as well as private sector peers.
  • Develop security awareness and education programs and materials and deliver in-person, on-site training.
  • Conduct site security assessments on a quarterly basis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in security management, law enforcement or the armed forces, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
  • 2+ years of experience managing/leading teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and CCTV surveillance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures and programs.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations and industry standards pertaining to security and safety in the region.
  • Proficiency in security assessments, audits and investigations at a large scale.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse security team.
  • The ability to respond quickly and effectively in life safety & emergency situations.

    Self-motivation with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both business leaders and cross-functional partners, with the ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others.
  • Attention to detail in both written and oral communication.
  • Ability to manage security challenges in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Experience managing contract security services.
  • Capable of fostering a culture of trust, honesty and integrity. Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
  • Travel required as needed, up to 50%

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$142,000 per year - USD$158,000 per year.
