Sr Communications Associate
About the Role
As a member of the ANZ Communications team, you will work to change the way people think about the role of technology in providing meaningful solutions to society's toughest challenges, from transforming car ownership to redefining the future of flexible work. As an experienced communicator you will partner on our efforts across Australia and New Zealand, proactively pitching stories while handling reactive queries in a busy and fast-paced press office. Based in Sydney, you will report directly to the Director of Communications, ANZ, and work closely with three communications leads, as well as cross functional teams and leadership across our Mobility and Delivery businesses.
The Impact You'll Have
- Work to tell our story in creative, inspiring ways that resonate with journalists and the general public;
- Handle media queries as part of a small but busy communications team which covers both Uber and Uber Eats;
- Work to amplify the voices of our partners, and build awareness of Uber products.
- Work with the team to build communications strategies, and campaigns, that promote and enhance the overall reputation of Uber;
- Work cross-functionally to help manage issues as they arise and shape the business' response;
- Partner with Uber's agency village to bring integrated communications campaigns to life
- Support the Communications team with ongoing and time sensitive projects and campaigns
- The role is very fast paced and will require a flexible work schedule and the option to work from a home office.
The Experience You'll Bring
- Ideally you would have at least 7 years experience in communications/PR with a good knowledge of the ANZ media market. (busy press office experience is a plus!)
- Experience managing complex communications and issues, with a love of consumer storytelling - either for a company, a third party or in government.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written, is essential.
- The ideal candidate will have worked in a busy press office.
- The candidate will work across the business (Uber and Uber Eats) and will need to be a great all rounder - someone who can dive into new projects, be a good writer and has strong verbal reasoning.
- Good stakeholder management is essential. The right candidate will need to successfully manage both external and internal stakeholders.
- Strength of character to thrive where the team is lean and the work is fast paced.
