What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
---- What the Candidate Will Do ----
- Build and enhance Uber Eats desktop web features using React, TypeScript, and GraphQL
- Collaborate with backend engineers to consume and extend APIs that power content and experimentation
- Participate in A/B testing and feature rollout initiatives to improve conversion and engagement
- Help improve page load performance and Core Web Vitals through frontend optimisations
- Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage (unit and integration tests)
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across frontend and backend components
- Collaborate on team processes including code reviews, design discussions, and documentation
---- Basic Qualifications ----
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with web applications
- Proficiency with modern frontend technologies: JavaScript/TypeScript, React
- Familiarity with backend services and APIs (GraphQL, REST)
- Basic understanding of web fundamentals including HTML, CSS, browser rendering, and performance
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and best practices
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Experience with Node.js, Go, or other backend languages is a plus
- Exposure to experimentation or feature flagging systems
- Interest or experience in performance optimisation, SEO, or i18n
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools (Sentry, DataDog, etc.)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and distributed team environment
