About the Role

The uPlan team supports multiple products critical to Uber's innovation pipeline, enabling seamless progression from ideation to experimentation and full-scale production. We provide cross-functional visibility-spanning legal, compliance, security, and engineering-to accelerate time to market. As a team member, you'll directly impact Uber's ability to launch globally with speed, safety, and strategic clarity

What You'll Do
  1. Drive the evolution of the uPlan platform by contributing across the stack, with a proactive approach to improving functionality, performance, and user experience.
  2. Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain service reliability and address production issues efficiently.
  3. Navigate ambiguity while helping define and build the vision for our newly launched product, from frontend UX to backend scalability.
  4. Collaborate closely with Product Managers to translate product vision and PRDs into well-architected, end-to-end solutions.
  5. Take ownership of scoped full-stack projects-leading design, implementation, and delivery aligned with team and org goals


Basic Qualifications

  1. BS/BE degree in Computer Science and related field. Advance degrees are preferred but not required.
  2. A minimum 3 years of engineering experience.
  3. Strong problem solving and coding skills. Competitive programming experiences are highly preferred.
  4. A passion to learn. Our domain is cutting edge in the developer experience, and we want you to be as excited as we are.
  5. Solid understanding and hands-on experiences with both frontend and backend.

An ideal candidate should possess the following technical skills:
  1. Command of the frontend web development stack (Javascript/HTML/CSS). Frameworks like React/Flux/Redux or Angular.js are a plus.
  2. Knowledge of a backend stack, including technologies like Golang, Java, Node.js, and how they interface with Redis, Kafka, Relational and/or KV stores and relevant storage systems


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Masters degree in Computer Science and related field
  2. Experience building web front end and distributed backend services at scale
  3. Experience building customer facing web views and internal tooling
