About the Role

Earner app is the place of work for millions earners across Uber to earn a living across different products.

As a Software Engineer II within the earner financials org within AMS , you will building next generation products improving the earner experience for our fellow earners that aims at improving increased earner earnings with strong retention and growth levers that makes magic in the marketplace of supply and demand by solving with scale.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Work across functions ( Product, Ops , DS ) to successfully deliver high impact projects for Earner.
  2. Solve challenging and interesting engineering problems for Uber.
  3. Produce high quality code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary languages are Java and Go.
  4. Demonstrate technical skills to go very deep or broad in solving classes of problems or creating broadly leverageable solutions.
  5. Collaborate with other talented team members within your group, smart technologists across product lines, to responsible leaders across Uber.
  6. Executes and contributes to the management of the end-to-end delivery of well-defined technical projects and solutions.

---- Basic Qualifications ----
  1. 4+ years of experience with software engineering. Sound understanding of computer architecture and CS fundamentals.
  2. Strong coding/debugging abilities: You have advanced knowledge of at least one programming language, and are happy to learn more. Our core languages are Python, Golang and Java.
  3. Fast learner: We're looking for software engineers who thrive on learning new technologies and don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. You should be able to adapt easily to meet the needs of our massive growth and rapidly evolving business environment.
  4. Architecture: Knowledge of data structures and an eye for architecture. You can discuss the tradeoff between architectural choices, both on a theoretical level and on an applied level.
  5. Push the bar on engineering best practices and help leadership build a strong engineering culture
  6. Grit, drive and a strong feeling of ownership coupled with collaboration.

  1. Strong expertise in Golang
  2. Good understanding of handling scale and its challenges
