Software Engineer II, Backend - Catalog Fulfillment

About the role:

Collaborates with stakeholders within the team to build and maintain backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber.

About the Team:

Catalog Fulfillment team sits at the cross-section of grocery and retail catalog and fulfillment of orders. Our overarching goal is to empower customers to effortlessly order items and receive them with high reliability and accuracy. Achieving this objective entails the development of sophisticated systems and machine learning models. These tools accurately forecast item availability, allowing us to tailor store selections and shape demand accordingly. Additionally, the team builds and enhances shopper experiences, facilitating seamless discovery of items in-store in the shortest amount of time.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 2-year full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 2-year total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)

Technical skills:

  • Scalability engineering
  • Distributed systems
