Software Engineer II (Backend)

2 days ago San Francisco, CA

About the Role

Our team owns a service that is responsible for deploying low level services and host agents to our datacenters. This is a service used in zone or region turn-up to set up the backbone of our platform as well as it's responsible for deploying new binaries for those services.

Engineers in this team build, maintain and modernize this platform. Each deployment can involve multiple regions, many zones and thousands of hosts, requiring high scalability and efficiency. Deployment safety is required to run our services reliably in case there's anything wrong with to-be-deployed or current binaries. Service owners are provided with observability tools (dashboards, emails, etc.), operating UI, and automated alerts to be aware of how their services are doing and efficiently take actions when necessary.
