About the Role
This is a core mobile engineering role (android) focussed on developing featured for the uber driver app. The mission of the driver app is to be the best place for drivers to earn. The kind-of features we develop are meant to streamline day to day operations - including core flows like accepting an offer and trip lifecycle.
The scale of the features is what sets the role apart as these features have to support earners at planet scale, be secure and highest quality.
System Reliability, data security and privacy are our key tenets.
This role is for experience and progressions team under earner org. The primary objective for this team is to solve the problem of low acceptance rate throughout uber systems. Uber has moved from a supply constrained market to 'quality supply' being need of the hour. The broader program enables uber to do just that by creating sustainable and meaningful quality based loyalty and engagement boosting products.

Core experiences like trip and offer are also owned by this team.

What skills are required
- Good Software engineering fundamentals
- Great at low level design, identify abstractions and avoid leaking implementation details into contracts
- Proponent of TDD
- Decent handle into Design and architecture
- Ability to write performant mobile code - ability proactively tune battery and network consumption
